The Icon of Evil
Historical

(??? - ???)

Culhun is a figure that appears in Asterist writings as an icon of an idea, an individual which represents traditional human notions of evil; to steal, abuse power, harm innocents, etc. Culhun is less of an actual mythical being and more of a personification of human evil, as Ferozen traditional religion considers human beings imperfect and morally neutral, while "true good" is seen as something only achievable as a faithful follower of Aster's teachings.

However, during the Oceanykan medieval era there are records of a powerful lord who went by this name. Suddenly, Culhun was a historical character, roughly contemporary to Aster's Son. It is said that at the peak of the latter's power, he rode to Jupiter Lake with 20,000 of Oceanyka's greatest warlords and magicians, to defeat this figure. The battle, according to myth, was a pyrrhic victory, as its objective was achieved at the cost of the warrior-king's near-death. The traditional version of this story in Dreamtime lore is that, though an excellent fighter, leader and magician, the Son of Aster was completely outmatched by a being that was empyrean in nature. He begged his deity for aid; this call was answered by Eingana, the Rainbow Serpent, who banished Culhun from Earth.
