Owen Gun

The F1 is an evolution of the Owen SMG, designed and produced by the Lithgow Small Arms Factory. It is essentially an Owen Gun that utilises some components of the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle, which was the standard issue battle rifle of the Federal Army. This allowed Lithgow to make production of its SMGs faster, cheaper and more streamlined. Despite the appearance and acquisition of modern assault rifles such as the AKM in the Oceanykan People's Army, the F1 is still produced and issued.

Auto

This weapon is fully automatic, either inherently so or by the presence of a selective-fire mechanism.

EFFECT:
This weapon can fire more than one shot each time it is used. Each subsequent shot has a progressive penalty.
Automatic weapons are considered STABLE when they're mounted on a vehicle, tripod or turret. This is different from the Stabilised SA.

  • Point Blank Range - No penalty.
  • Close Range (≤10m / 2sq) -> -1
  • Short Range (≤50m / 5sq) -> -2 (STABLE: -1)
  • Average Range (≤200m / 10sq) -> -3 (STABLE: -1)
  • Medium Range (≤500m / 20sq) -> -5 (STABLE: -1)
  • Long Range (≤1000m / 50sq) -> -5 (STABLE: -3)

         ~ Beyond this point, automatic fire is unfeasible without a STABLE firing platform. ~

  • Very Long Range (≤2000m) -> (STABLE: -3)
  • Extreme Range (>2000m) -> (STABLE: -5)

Most Oceanykans' belief in personal liberty extends to their guns, and they believe themselves to be great at modding them out. Regardless of whether or not that is true, the reality is that practically every weapon in Oceanyka has suffered from modifications to its original design, either by its previous owner, the manufacturer or the artisan that crafted it.

EFFECT:
Upon first acquiring this weapon, roll 1d3 and grant this weapon a permanent bonus.

  1. Ergonomic: The weapon can always Counterattack (0 AP) after an enemy's melee attack.
  2. Controllable: The weapon can always be used to Magdump (2 AP).
  3. Idiot-Proof: This weapon can never jam nor fail from UNRELIABILITY.

In Wargame Mode, all weapons with this SA across the entire army respond to a single roll.

The Owen Gun is famous for its unparalleled reliability. It can rain down fire in the worst of conditions without stoppages or serious malfunctions.
