The Owen Gun is a legendary all-Oceanykan 9x19mm Parabellum submachinegun. It was designed during the early phases of the Civil War, and quickly adopted as the Federal Army's standard submachinegun. The Owen Gun proved more accurate and reliable than SMGs imported from Britain or the US, and it could be produced locally, a decisive factor in its favour when WW2 broke out and arms imports became restricted. Its natural habitat is in the deadly bogs of the east, in the searing deserts of the Outback, in the dark jungles of the north, and in the mountains of the far south. It is a trustworthy firearm in any climate, biome or weather condition. Despite the introduction of the AKM series of rifles to the Federal Army, the Owen Gun is still the main close-range automatic firearm of the Federal Army, and a sought-after product in the nation's gun markets.

Common Attributes - Mechanical

Auto

This weapon is fully automatic, either inherently so or by the presence of a selective-fire mechanism.

EFFECT:
This weapon can fire more than one shot each time it is used. Each subsequent shot has a progressive penalty.
Automatic weapons are considered STABLE when they're mounted on a vehicle, tripod or turret. This is different from the Stabilised SA.

  • Point Blank Range - No penalty.
  • Close Range (≤10m / 2sq) -> -1
  • Short Range (≤50m / 5sq) -> -2 (STABLE: -1)
  • Average Range (≤200m / 10sq) -> -3 (STABLE: -1)
  • Medium Range (≤500m / 20sq) -> -5 (STABLE: -1)
  • Long Range (≤1000m / 50sq) -> -5 (STABLE: -3)

  • Very Long Range (≤2000m) -> (STABLE: -3)
  • Extreme Range (>2000m) -> (STABLE: -5)

Oceanyka's civil war was not disconnected from World War II and its grand ideological struggle, but rather it was caused by and complemented by the latter. The Oceanykan Council's victory over the rebels, over the Japanese Empire and, as a member of the Allies, over the Eurasian Axis, is a key component of its nationhood, of a nation redeemed for Gallipoli. And though the hands of a soldier forget much, they always remember the rifle.

EFFECT:
This weapon's damage is maximised if an ally creature or unit is Downed or killed within Close Range until the end of combat.
