Mechanicum

The common name for a largely unknown group that operates under the shadows of Oceanyka. Masterful engineers, mechanics and researchers. Also extremely isolationist, to the point where they are widely believed to be a myth. Their apparent goal is to acquire all the precursor technology in the land, but not much else is known. Interrogated members say their final objective is to follow the will of the precursor and ascend humanity when it is ready. This is puzzling because studies of what little precursor material remains dictates they were trying to survive the extremely harsh environment of post-event Oceania. This is to be expected, as Mechanicum members are zealously privy and see no wrong in deception. Suicide is also preferable to capture or surrender according to them. The Mechanicum is constantly seeking out precursor sites to scout, loot, scrap and demolish in that order. Most of their members are scientists, engineers and mechanics. When they are seen, it is brandishing power tools made out of scavenged technology and cutting apart precursor objects on site.
