Psychics

A rare paranormal ability rarely found in humans, more so in cryptids. Psychics can bend the rules of reality to their will in several ways, depending on their natural skill and specialisation. Animal and amateur human subjects may use weak variations of these with a significant risk of disaster. But humans with high enough pain thresholds, intelligence, patience and concentration may further develop control of themselves with no defined limit. The Son of Aster was believed to be such a powerful psychic he could manufacture antimatter in a desired location, creating a 100% efficiency energy transformation and a nuclear-yield explosion. Psychics are most of the time executed with no quarter. With the lower class and ignorant rulers it is due to superstition and well-founded fears, respectively. In secret societies and the FSRD it is due to the inminent risk of psychic meltdown and eldritch disasters. The vast majority of the population believes they are a myth, and assign them different names and cultural roles (witches, wizards, demons, etc.)
