Psychic Meltdown

Either by amateur mistake or as a product of high psychic, mental or physical stress, psychic meltdowns are a critical failure in the psychic's control over their own abilities, which tears into the fabric of our reality and opens a direct conduit to the Dreamspace. This normally has a couple of possible consequences. The first and most common is a random catastrophic event, its scale dependent on the psychic's mastery of themselves. For example, a miniature black hole, or the concept of "zero" becoming impossible in a given zone (rendering all binary-based computers and mental mathematics unworkable). However, if they prove resilient enough to our reality, there may be a spilling of otherworldly landscapes into our own, sometimes along with... "living" things. These are usually completely impossible to understand for the human mind. Psychic meltdowns have ranged from small isolated incidents with almost zero impact, to town-consuming nightmares that can affect several dozen square kilometres.
