The Oceanykan Federation is divided into regions, subregions and outback territories. These represent administrative and geographical barriers which were agreed upon with the establishing of the Constitution. However, they do not represent in any way a political division akin to states in regular republics, as the Council's seats are awarded through representative voting, lobbying, and spoils of war.

16 Federal Regions, which form the core population centres of Oceanyka. The vast majority of Oceanyka's industrial and agricultural centres lay in these areas.

2 Federal Subregions, which make up the Federation's more isolated outer rim. These are the island of New Caledonia and the Torres Strait Archipelago.

5 Federal Outback Territories, which make up for most of the deadly Outback. Urbanisation is rare in these environments, except in Bosphorus, where trade between east and west allowed for cities to rise.

Plus the Federal Capital Region of Greater Cestlep, which is the seat of power of the Oceanykan Council, and the most urbanised region of all.
