Oceanykan Australia's percetage of surfare freshwater is far greater than in real life. Some of the major water bodies are the following;

NOTABLE RIVERS:

-The South Esk and Derwent rivers are the only major freshwater flows in Tasmania. The former originates from the northern peak and is entirely safe for consumption. The latter's source is in the Tasmanian Highland, and is highly toxic. Vegetation on the southern portion of the island apparently filters out these toxins. Both feature multiple waterfalls.

-The Murrumbidgee is a large river and tributary of the Murray

-The river systems in the north-eastern portion of the Darling absorb water from the Great Dividing Range. A part of it is fertile grassland, another is a very large marshland.

-The Murray river is the most important in Oceanyka. It has a similar water discharge to the Yangtze and is the mother of Oceanykan civilisation. The merging with the Darling river gives it all that water volume. Cestlep is located in its mouth.

-The Darling river is a long water body that rises up north, merging and separating several times. The drainage basin includes the Great Dividing Range, which gives it very high discharge comparable to the Mississippi. It merges with the Murray river down south.

-The Mitchell and Flinders are large rivers responsible for the humidity in the eastern portion of the Northern Territories.

-The Warburton and Cooper are large rivers that prevent people in the most hellish parts of the Outback from dying of dehydration.

-The Halifax and Swan are large rivers that form part of the core of aboriginal agriculture.

-The rivers around Lake Normandy allow for productive activities in the northern aboriginal territories.

-The Prussian river and its children feed the Northern Territories' jungles and population.

LAKES:

-Lake Roma is a small lake and popular cattle herd stop.

-The Eyres, Gairdner, Frome and Blanche lakes give the north of Cestlep a rich grassland. The south-eastern portions allow for agriculture, while the rest are excellent grazing grounds. Unlike OTL, these are not salt lakes.

-Lake Constantine allows for the city of Bosphorus to prosper.

-Lake Joke is a nice relief in the edge of the Outback.

-The Konigsberg lake is the source for the rivers in the Northern Territories. Multiple settlements have spawned around it.

-The Outback Lakes and Lake Mackay are seasonal salt lakes, dry during summer.

-Lake Jupiter is a massive salt lake with very high salinity comparable to the Dead Sea. Significant amounts of Uranium-259 have been detected in the water.

-Lake Disappointment is shallow and salty. Aptly named.

-Lake Normandy is a freshwater lake that feeds the northern aboriginal settlements and multiple rivers.

-Ironforge Lake is an extremely deep freshwater lake with a depth of 1453m. It's responsible for the high success of aboriginal settlement in the area after they were kicked out of their homeland, due to its endless supply of freshwater to syphon off for irrigation and general use.

-The Yyidia, Alrbya, Barlee, Womba, Carnegie and Glassdrop rivers give the central aboriginal lands enough humidity and nutrition to sustain continued settlement.
