Doctrine of Massed Air Operations

Military Context
The warfighting principle of mass can also be applied to aerial warfare, manifesting primarily in two modes; strategic bombing and total aerial superiority. The first refers to the use of large numbers of bombers to destroy enemy infrastructure, logistics, massed assets and communications, be it through carpet bombing or, in the contemporary era, through precision-guided munitions. The second refers to the use of large numbers of fighters and fighter-bombers to deny the enemy of any aerial support or control, to maintain their ground units under constant bombardment and harassment, and to engage in continuous interdiction strikes, destroying their capability to supply the frontline. Only large air forces are capable of these types of operations, a luxury only a few Oceanykan substates can afford.
