The western giant wombat is a domestic animal native to Australia's western coasts. It is a hairless herbivore, marsupial mammal of enormous size, reaching up to six metres in height, and unlike other wombats possesses short tusks for self-defence. Western giant wombats have historically been used as draft animals in aboriginal societies, as they are capable of pulling enormous loads. There even exist some giant wombat pastures, where the creatures are taken care of for a whole decade until their slaughter, yielding a very significant amount of delicious, fatty meat. At some point in Oceanykan history, there existed mounted troops which fought on the backs of these creatures, but technological advances quickly left this type of cavalry obsolete.
