The terror of all Soviet tanks during WW2; the PaK 40 became Germany's main piece of anti-tank artillery mid-war, earning a fiercesome reputation as a heartless tank killer. Able to penetrate all but the heaviest of Soviet tanks, it was quickly repurposed as the KwK 40 tank gun, arming Germany's mid-to-late war Panzer IV and tank destroyer fleet, supplemented by the larger 8.8cm, 10.5cm and 12.8cm guns. Against a well-entrenched "Pakfront", Soviet forces had to employ light artillery and air support, else their armoured spearheads would be doomed. As recoilless rifles became more popular within NATO, and anti-tank guns became obsolete, thousands were sold off to third-world nations, including Oceanyka.
