The L6 WOMBAT (Weapon of Magnesium, Battalion Anti-Tank) is a British anti-tank recoilless rifle of 120mm calibre. It fires novel HESH shells, which upon impact with an enemy tank, will deform their plastic explosives and conform to its hull; the detonation will usually fill the inside of an enemy armoured vehicle with a deadly hail of spall and shrapnel. Though beginning to be replaced by anti-tank missiles, the L6 WOMBAT is still a very light piece of artillery, at only 300kg, and can knock out practically any eastern bloc tank in service. Furthermore, because HESH shells are practically all plastic explosives, they make for fearsome anti-personnel and anti-bunker rounds. The OPA used these weapons before the Revolution, and was able to manufacture them within Australia.
