The BS-3 was the Soviet Union's heaviest anti-tank weapon of the Great Patriotic War. It was capable of defeating any western tank, even the infamous Tiger II from the front at less than a kilometre away. Though it was replaced by newer guns, and lately by anti-tank missiles, the BS-3 is still an effective weapon in the Cold War. Both this gun and the D-10T used in modern Soviet tanks derive from the same B-34 naval gun and can be considered almost equivalent, especially since they fire the same 100x695mm fixed ammunition.
