The Kingdom of Poland is a nation that was born and raised in war. Following the end of World War I, Russian Poland was made into the "Kingdom of Poland" with a Hohenzollern on its throne. As part of the General's Conspiracy, Ludendorff's and Hindenburg's revised Septemberprogramm, their plans for a new Europe, called for the quick and bloody germanisation of those territories within Germany which were either majority Polish or had a significant minority of these people. When the Velvet Revolution broke out, Weimar's SPD government received enormous support from the Poles, which began a series of uprisings throughous Posen, Silesia and West Prussia. However, further to the East, Vladimir Lenin had ordered an invasion of the Kingdom of Poland seeing as Germany was on the brink of a civil war, the Polish-Soviet War. Half of its territory was transformed into a puppet state of the Soviet Union, the Polish People's Republic. Its mettle was once more tested during World War II, as Poland was the region of Europe which saw the most and the heaviest fighting. Their loyalty was rewarded in the post-war Neuordnungprogramm by Kaiser Louis Ferdinand, far more liberal than his two predecessors; Poland's Hohenzollern king was asked to step down. Poland's parliament chose to call upon Prince Casimir Poniatowski. Their decision was approved by plebiscite, turning him into Casimir V of Poland. He was succeeded by King Michal II of House Poniatowski, who is the current head of state.

Modern Poland is an industrialised country with a medium-high standard of living. However, unlike Germany, it has maintained a high degree of militarisation owing to its large border with the Soviet sphere.
