The HK33 is a German .223 Remington assault rifle designed in the mid-1960s for Sturmtruppen shock infantry, as well as Fallschirmjager paratroopers, and other such units which required a more nimble firearm than a battle rifle. It is a very recent introduction and something of a status symbol with Oceanykans as obtaining one requires raiding or killing somewhere close to Strosstruppen infantry or German special operations units, none of which are too attractive targets for the everyday pirate or raider. There are plans in the German army to completely replace the G3 with the HK33, but military-industrial lobbying and bad planning has prevented this (the G3 has already received a huge investment to replace the remaining StGs and Gewehr 43s).
