The ZSU-23-4 "Shilka" is a Soviet self-propelled anti-aircraft system. It consists of quad-mounted 23mm ZU-23 autocannons on an armoured chassis, guided by a small radar. This combination of elements have proven to be the single most capable low altitude air defence system on the planet. Much of NATO's air support doctrine had to be redesigned upon the apparition of these weapons.
