Colt's M1911 pistol is a classic. Its .45 ACP cartridge is powerful, while the weapon itself is extremely reliable. However, it is also somewhat pricey to make. Following World War II, much work was put into perfectioning a cheap stamped steel version of this firearm as part of a US Army contract. Unable to solve a number of mechanical issues, Colt turned towards renowned ramshackle firearms manufacturer West Defence, located in Oceanyka. The result was better than expected, and although their Army contract fell apart, these M1911S handguns have proven popular with a number of cash-strapped combatants around the world.
