The Colt Monitor, R80 model, is an American .30-06 selective fire weapon derived from the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle, from which it differs in a number of characteristics. Colt's modifications include a massive compensator to help with recoil when firing on the move, dust covers, the removal of some steel parts and shortening of the barrel (reducing the weapon's weight to a comparatively measly 6kg), as well as a pistol grip. This weapon does not come with a bipod, and is meant to be fired standing, crouched or on the move. As such, unlike its predecessor, the Colt Monitor is closer to a modern battle rifle than it is to a traditional light machinegun. While only used in the US by the FBI and prison wardens, the Colt Monitor found success pre-war with numerous smaller states and private armies, such as those which spring the Oceanykan landscape, or the Waffen SS.
