Also called Sponks, the Whittmann is a species close to the regular jumping spiders found throughout the entire world. Individuals are far larger than other jumping spiders, measuring up to 6cm long (jumping spiders are kind of square in proportions, so that'd be on all sides). This places them on a size closer to other conventional spiders, but small by local standards. Whittmann spiders possess small fangs which can apply a surprising amount of force and inject venom effective to anything smaller than a large rat. Anything above that weight would be hard-pressed at feeling any effects. They leap up to two meters in a single jump using silk projections that assist them. Their huge eyes allow for superb 3D environment vision, which coupled with their complex and large brain structure, allows for calculated jumps and complex hunting plans. Whittmanns are curious and friendly by nature, easily bonding with humans and other non-hostile large mammals such as dogs or cats. They have also been observed frequently allying Huntsman spiders, which are also beneficial to humans.
