Karlodon

The Karlodon is a gigantic omnivore which primarily inhabits Oceanyka's northeastern wetlands. From head to tail it can measure up to 15 meters. Antler-like formations protrude from its back, the young ride on those for five years until they reach sexual maturity and can hunt on their own. It takes another 13 years for them to grow to their maximum size. The Karlodon has agility comparable to an oversized cat despite its enormous size, making it a capable predator. However it is an omnivore, and most of its nutrition comes from eating Eucalyptus tree leaves. It cannot gain many nutrients such as protein from this diet and will go hunting every so often. When threatened and cornered, a Karlodon will explosively release two different compounds from large glands located in its rear. The first is a cloud of fine neurotoxic particles that will contaminate an area in a radius of around 20 meters (it is immune to its own chemical attack through an exotic protein). The second is a foul-smelling gas capable of inducing shock and violent excretion from most orifices in a radius of 90~ meters, and in high enough concentrations can even induce coma. Such a repugnant smell can be detected by humans at up to three kilometers away; a telltale sign that the Karlodon lurks near.
