Salmon gum mushrooms are massive ground fungi which grow in Oceanyka's forests, as well as in other nearby regions such as Indonesia, New Zealand and Malaysia. This species is edible, though it tends to be maggot-ridden and is said to taste really bland on its own. What makes the salmon gum mushroom special is its enormous size; individual fungi found in Oceanyka are usually around 15-20kg, but specimens up to 30kg heavy have been recorded. They are a basic foodstuff of the continent's forest-dwelling peoples, normally prepared as Grilled Shrooms.
