Though derided by users of belt-fed machineguns as "antiquate", the Bren Gun can be reloaded incredibly fast by any well-trained trained soldier.
The L4 Bren Gun is a British light machinegun, a modified version of the World War II-era Bren Gun. It is chambered in the 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge and can use either 20 or 30 round magazines, both of its own production and those used in the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle or its derivatives. The L4 has a gas-operated tilting bolt action and a quick-change barrel. It can fire in semi-automatic or fully automatic mode. This weapon was adopted by the British Army in the 1950s, though it is believed that the XL-65 Light Support Weapon or one of its derivatives will eventually replace it.
