The Sieg Automatic Rifle is an American prototype automatic rifle that is designed by James E. Sieg of the US Coast Guard in 1946. It is chambered for the .30-06 Springfield cartridge and uses a 20-round detachable box magazine. The design has a bullpup layout, a gas-operated tilting bolt action, a two-finger double trigger, an extremely efficient muzzle compensator that can double as a grenade launcher (so much so that the Sieg can be shot with one hand) and a bayonet mount. It can fire in semi-automatic or fully automatic mode. Though interest in the project was lost by the US Armed Forces, mercenaries across Australia funded James E. Sieg's project. He eventually moved to western Oceanyka and opened up a small factory to produce his rifles.
