Bourgeoise Superculture

Superculture

Bourgeoise superculture refers to the practices and values of the upper class, which holds the highest status, wealth, and power in Oceanyka. It is often associated with high culture, which encompasses the cultural objects of aesthetic value, such as art, literature, music, history, and philosophy. Much of it is usually inherited from generation to generation (within a household) and is distinct from the culture of the middle class and the working class. In the past it was primarily influenced by the traditions of aristocracy and nobility, though the urban capitalists now dominate this superculture, giving it a particularly cosmopolitan and individualistic character in line with the rest of the world's upper class, with which the continent's own has deep commercial, diplomatic and even family links. Bourgeoise families often operate large companies, so crushing expectations are placed upon their children, and they are granted excellent education either through private tutoring or by private schooling.
