The Wright J65 is an American turbojet engine that was produced by Curtiss-Wright, a license-built improvement of the Armstrong Siddeley "Sapphire". The J65 powered several US aircraft, such as the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, the Grumman F-11 Tiger, and the Republic F-84F Thunderstreak. It had an axial-flow compressor with 13 stages and a two-stage turbine, able to produce between 32kN to 47kN of thrust, depending on the model and the use of afterburner.
