The 19-K 45mm anti-tank gun is a light quick-firing Soviet anti-tank gun that was used by the Red Army in the first stage of the Great Patriotic War. It was created by factory No. 8 in Korolyov city, under the leadership of engineer V. Bering. The gun fires fixed 45x310 mmR ammunition at 15 rounds per minute from a semi-automatic vertical sliding-wedge breech, being carried by a modern split-trail carriage. It was designed to penetrate the armour of enemy tanks and vehicles, but it was soon found to be insufficient against newer models of German tanks, so it was replaced by the 53-K 45mm Anti-Tank Gun. However, many 19-Ks found themselves as tank cannons, redesignated 20-K.
