The Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG) operates as a highly classified, multi-service special operations unit whose geographical scope is limited to the Vietnam War. It conducts covert unconventional warfare operations, engaging in strategic reconnaissance missions across Indochina. The unit captures enemy prisoners, rescues downed pilots, retrieves prisoners of war, and carries out clandestine activities and psychological operations. Comprising primarily personnel from the U.S. Army Special Forces, Navy SEALs, Air Force, CIA, and Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance units, MACV-SOG is a top-tier force reporting directly to the Pentagon's Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Because it is geographically limited to Vietnam region, there are no MACV-SOG operations in Oceanyka. However, this does not exclude the possibility that CIA-SOG agents may be infiltrated within the country, assigned to a secret regional command.
