A hallmark of German engineering, Paul Mauser's rifles deliver unmatched precision and power, embodying the Empire’s relentless pursuit of excellence.
The Mauser Model 1871, known in Germany as the Gewehr 71, is a German single-shot bolt-action rifle designed by Paul Mauser. It represents the first commercial success of Mauser A.G., as well as the first in a very long family of bolt-action rifles. It is chambered in 11x60mmR Mauser, a black powder metallic cartridge. This gave it a significant edge over contemporary small arms, particularly the Fusil Modèle 1866 "Chassepot"; it represented not only a tactical advantage, but also a boon for Germany's small arms exports.
