The Junkers Jumo 004 is a German jet engine designed by Dr. Anselm Franz. It features an axial-flow compressor, which allows for a continuous, straight flow of air through the engine, enhancing efficiency and reducing drag. Its design includes six combustion chambers and a variable area exhaust nozzle, capable of outputting 8.8 kN of thrust. First run in 1940, the Jumo 004 powered notable aircraft like the Messerschmitt Me 262 and the Arado Ar 234.
