The MiG-19 is a Soviet transonic jet fighter. Although many versions of this fighter exist, the MiG-19P is the most widely recognised with improved firepower and the addition of an RP-1 Izumrud radar. The MiG-19's double Tumansky RD-9 engines allow it to reach 1,452 km/h or Mach 1.34 in level flight. Additionally, unlike earlier MiGs, the MiG-19P's armament consists solely of three 30mm Nudelman-Rikhter NR-30 autocannons, all of the same calibre. These machines have proven themselves in aerial combat over the skies of Vietnam, facing off against western aircraft involved in the Vietnam War.

Unique Attributes

Firepipe - MiG-19 UA

The MiG-19 was plagued by problems due to its rushed production. While undoubtedly capable as a fighter, primarily due to its great speed, it was equally likely to go up in a ball of flames as it was to successfully engage the enemy. Some Soviet fighters described it as a "metal tube which could erupt in flames at any moment".

EFFECT:
The MiG-19 is always Flammable.
