The party delved further into the underground, conjured dungeon after taking a short rest after the nothic encounter. The next room blocked further passage with a red forcefield surrounded by four pedestals. The voice of the somnian echoed through from beyond with another riddle:
Hold to truth with who doesn’t sing,
helping hand for death and wings.
Fly one clear lyre in diverse tone,
dead man's bells for men of stone.
which they figured out how to use to progress further. However, in doing so, everyone but Devinn got turned to stone temporarily.
In the final chamber, Devinn met Vejahves "The Hazecutter" Obrevi, champion of Murk, who was very tired from waiting around with no company but the somnian, a terrestrial, humanoid-shaped being that seemed to be made of stars and galaxies. Devinn received his boon, which affected his notebook as well, and was told to babysit the somnian from now on. Why the Hazecutter did not know.
Narrowly escaping the dungeon as it simply ceased to exist behind them as they ran, the group re-emerged above ground when the time-shifting happened again, and they were returned to the present day. The somnian had ridden on Devinn's back the whole way, and in the present time Devinn absorbed it through the mouth (with great pains). It spoke from within him, although it didn't say much.
Making their way back to party was ambushed by Owlkocra bandits once again, who they dispatched with only some minor difficulties. Green Tree helped. Afterward, the party found a medallion of thoughts, a bag of sundrops, and banded agate, 1400 cp, and 20 ep in hidden chests in the overgrown area.
