Forge

Battle Grandma
Player Character

In the fire of my [forge] is something like Divinity. Work away and work hard, and perhaps you will find the spark within the flames – or Forge, as she’s more commonly known – arrived in Quillpond 50 years ago to settle down after a long life of adventuring. An elven trans woman in her 450s, she has a freckled face with deep laugh lines and wears her coarse, gray hair in a long braid. Her typical dress includes a woolen kirtle (usually in a dark color with metallic embroidery around the hem) and a red or yellow hood, occasionally with linen trousers. Forge is well known in town, having been here since most of the residents were children. Forge is a cleric of Moradin, and lives in a small priory behind the blacksmith with her adopted grandson, Grummen.

Though she grew up in a community which primarily worshipped Melora, as a young woman she discovered Moradin’s teachings, alongside the art of metalworking, and fell in love. She became his champion and his partner, taking up an adventuring life to travel the mortal world on his behalf. While Forge believes wholeheartedly in Moradin’s philosophy of resilience, community, and creativity, she doesn’t follow her god without question. In fact, she considers it her sacred duty to challenge him, to make sure that his miracles and divine edicts truly serve the people who rely on him.

After nearly two centuries of adventures, Forge settled down in Quillpond in the (relatively) new republic of Hallea. For the last fifty years she’s lived the quiet life, tending to her garden, her fellow townspeople, and most recently her adopted grandson. But strange things have begun to take place in Quillpond, and more concerning to Forge, Moradin seems to have disappeared. It may be time to set off for adventure once again…
