Brandanthall

A holding of the now-extinct Brandath family left to Renaer after his mother's death, along with the rest of her Brandath wealth. For a time it was known as Neverwinter Manor, but Renaer restored its original name in his mother’s honor.

Renaer spends little time in the four-story manor, though his friends have an open invitation to use the house as they please. Brandanthall is run by Madrak Salibuck, the white-haired and iron-spined halfling housekeeper who promised the late Lady Alethea Brandath she would keep an eye on Renaer. Madrak’s son Bramal and his children oversee the Brandath estates.

Gate to Varadras

Turning a stone rosebud outside the garderobe just past Renaer’s office causes the garderobe to drop out of sight and a stone staircase to rotate down from the ceiling. The stairs lead to a hidden rooftop rose garden, where there is statue of a kneeling elf maid; for as long as water is poured into the statue’s hands, a portal opens to Varadras.

The staircase is reset by shoving a metal bench over the top of the stairwell.

Varadras

A disused estate located about 100 miles due west of Beliard, near the Stone Bridge northwest of Waterdeep. Varadras was built by Renaer’s ancestor Varad Brandatd, who was one of the last students of the first Blackstaff.

The estate lies in the vicinity of the Pellamcopse, a once-pleasant little wood good for hunting game now corrupted into a spell-warped forest and home to strange animals. Varadras is surrounded by conifer-like plants with blazing red needles that glow slightly in the moonlight. Within the estate, various passwords (“Kamatar,” “Palnethar,” “Dorneathr”) cause hearths and torches to flare to light.
