Human
Nobility of Spirit
Even Human brigands hold to a code of their own. Rather than from any fear of retribution or damnation (though both do occur), the mortal folk of Karnum place a great store by having fidelity to an ethos. As most religions on the continent revolve around solar cults, each person feels as if they look god in the face every day. Less than a belief, a sort of
gnostic theism is the default worldview for the high and low alike. The
common metaphor for the soul is a prism, through which the light from above cannot but enlarge
the unique beauty within. This faith in the basic dignity of humanity pervades every solar cult from west to east.
Mastery of Self
Taking the metaphor of the soul as a gem to its logical extreme, some families raise their young as Scions to become leaders, knights, and folk heroes. Nothing sets a Scion apart except that they are carefully raised from youth to follow some code of conduct, even when it may imperil their lives. It is a belief common to every Human society that through inner perfection a more perfect world will be made. Having such a refinement of purpose through their Knightly Vows, the already relentless human spirit grants a Scion an almost mystic ability to exceed Human limits.
That Infamous Condition
Humanity is of course familiar to the reader; we are banal, we are magnificent. You know this. What more can be said? Across the Six Kingdoms,
humans have made every corner of the continent a home, owing to their
tenacity and adaptability. We can be found everywhere. We
are like yeast, spreading on the wind and sowing wine and irritation
wherever we go. Hit Loc | # | Armor | Hit Boxes | Shocked Status |
