The White Gryphon [571gp] Jeweler: Sir Morien Burgoyne: [HGT: 6ft, 4in; WGT: 225 lbs] Sir Morien is a wealthy aesthete who, rumor has it, was so depraved at 17 that he had long ago given up trying to be any worse. Now he whiles away his afternoons looking after his brother's shop. He may be disreputable, but he's the kind of villain you only get with generations of breeding and wealth. A man of his word (and precious few words at that), he has a rare eye for gems. DRESSED IN: white riding boots, a silver buckled belt, black pants, and a salmon red formal doublet. POSSESSIONS: a silver cup, concealed pouch with precious stones (sardonyx quartz - 3ea worth 397gp). ARMS & ARMOR: gold-hilted bastard sword (w+1SK/wSK), ornate platemail, crested kite shield

The Salubrious Quaff Cantina [578gp] Tap Commander: Dame Griselda Vash: [HGT: 5ft, 1in; WGT: 190 lbs] Her husband Sir Mortimer won the cantina in a bet with its previous owner - a race to see who could lose a foot to gout first. Dame Griselda (Zelda to her friends) has had to run it in his stead, owing to the difficulty standing. She is a squat, well-built woman with an easy smile and an even easier aim with her shoe. She keeps a disgusting old teddybear behind the bar, which she uses to sop up spilled drinks. You can drink "Bear Juice" for a dare, but generally only once. DRESSED IN: dark-brown heel boots and a dark-red fancy dress. POSSESSIONS: handkerchief, silver necklace (50sp).

Emesis Indemnity | 6gp | |||
Annual Membership | 10gp |
Members of the Salubrious Quaff have always paid their tabs but once a year. There has developed a sort of game in which knights attempt to rack up the highest tab before dying. The current record holder is the late Sir Maleagant IV, who accumulated a record tab of 7,540 gold pieces before being called into action and unexpectedly slain by bandits in Widdershins Way. His record has stood for a decade, and it was always remarked that he never seemed the worse for drink.
If one finds it difficult to hold their liquor, they may purchase Emesis Indemnity for the evening. Without this payment of insurance, a patron caught in the act of sickness must expect whatever punishment the crowd feels is due. Most of the time, watching a rascally drunk nobleman mopping up his own sick while wearing a jester's cap is deemed appropriate. The cantina is not always staffed, but it is never locked. Members can be trusted to at least guess at their tabs honestly, and are encouraged to slightly underestimate.
Patrons (Those that are likely looking squires):
[Aspiring Knight] Primula Cavalier: [HGT: 5ft, 3in; WGT: 160 lbs] She is a tomboy with short, brown hair. Arrogant and foolhardy, she is however naive and trusting. Devout Karnist. She's a real asshole when it comes to religion. DRESSED IN: dark-green boots, brown pants, and a forest-green doublet. POSSESSIONS: love letter, candle, small metal box with 3sp. ARMS & ARMOR: hand and a half battle axe (w+1/2K), plate mail armor, shield
[Aspiring Knight] Jacob Barks: [HGT: 6ft, 11in; WGT: 310 lbs] He is a rough looking man with short, black hair with a close-shaved beard and moustache. He is generally quite positive, but very aggressive. He is an armor enthusiast and a keen baker. He dislikes anyone not from New Baz, even more than mutants. DRESSED IN: dark-red boots, a blue kilt, a hooded black cloak, and a grey wool doublet. POSSESSIONS: yarn (48 ft), bag of berries. ARMS & ARMOR: two-handed sword (w+2K, AP1), plate mail armor, heater shield
[Aspiring Knight] Solomon James: [HGT: 7ft, 1in; WGT: 350 lbs] A well-dressed very large young man with a roguish grin and a good heart. He is beset by the imp of the perverse, but strives to do good in the end. DRESSED IN: blue boots, white denim pants, light-gray cloak, and a blue doublet. POSSESSIONS: tent, small silver holy symbol, silver ring (5 sp), whittling knife. ARMS & ARMOR: single handed battle axe (wK, AP1), plate mail armor, kite shield
[Aspiring Knight] Enoch Harvey: [HGT: 5ft, 10in; WGT: 155 lbs] He is a dandy with a short beard and moustache. Generally ill-favored, even tempered, but quite careless of death. Loves fishing. Second Story Book Shoppe [1,649gp] Shopkeeper: Dame Engelise Boyar: [HGT: 5ft, 1in; WGT: 150 lbs] Second Story is situated on the second floor of The White Gryphon, which is how it got its name. Dame Engelise is a quiet, pointy woman with a hasty disposition and a tight hair bun. The librarians' profession has suffered for her unaccountably being a shopkeeper instead. DRESSED IN: red shoes, black stockings, a calf length beige dress, and a black formal blouse. POSSESSIONS: promissory note (514 gp), glue (4 oz).
The Brownford Astazius Collection [2,390gp] Curator: Sir Asketil Brownford: [HGT: 6ft, 4in; WGT: 225 lbs] Astazius was a secretive genius luthier, having died 254 years ago. His 999 stringed creations, of which perhaps only 23 are thought to survive, are widely regarded as the finest ever to have existed. One of his apprentices was Ivo Brownford, who was Sir Asketil's great great great grandfather. Sir Asketil produces a line of replicas, which are considered some of the best currently in production, but he is ever humbled by the 8 remaining Astazius instruments left to the collection. DRESSED IN: gray shoes, faded black pants, spectacles, and a brown fancy vest and white shirt. POSSESSIONS: resin, lint-free cloth, soap, smoking pipe.
