The canopy of this wood is so thick that even noon on a clear day fails to shed much more than a thin gloom. A road runs through it from Vidugavnia to Buckstadt, but the way is dark and the path is often little more than a deer trail.
All that, even when weather is bright and calm - which it almost never is. Clouds are constant, and heavy rains are typical. At least the close trees provide shelter and protection from the worst of the wind, and it is rarely foggy.
