Creates a pot of black ink, enchanted with a dark root called alfaragh. The root itself is usually sniffed out with the aid of a trained meerkat. It is only possible to train a meerkat for this work if it has been carefully mesmerized with certain smokes. Certain rangers specialize in this trade, and sell the root for a handsome profit.
For the purposes of this entry, it sufices to say that alfaragh ink is an enchanted pigment that, when applied to paper creatures, imbues them with additional Directives beyond their base limit. The spell creates enough ink for three Directives per casting. The process consumes a great deal of ink. The pigment desubstantiates into the thoughts they represent. If not enough ink is used, the paper creature may become unreliable.
Tinctures of alfaragh can be used to empty the mind, and create a driving absence of will. The effects can be rather horrific when used on humans, and the less that is said the better.
