Enchanted with a life of their own, they act as an extension of your body when worn. When wrapped around your arms, they count as -2K armor. However, you can use them for various creative tricks as well. With hooks attached to the ends, you can use them to climb and swing with ease, for example. When under their own power, they count as having Body 1, Coordination 3. 

A longshoreman named Brig was once sent to prison for aiding smugglers of forbidden mystic arts. Before the smuggler was executed, he made amends by giving Brig a magical powder that would bring ropes to life, to aid him in his boat work. Instead, Brig used the powder to stage an escape and save the smugglers.
