Barborosa

Barbarosa was the son of a merchant whose boat was attacked by Black Bow's pirates; he was pulled out of the sea and forced to work on the ship. During this time, Gorack took the young human under his wing. Teaching him how to survive amongst the harsh crew of the boat. Eventually, Barbarosa would captain his own ship as part of the Black Bows fleet. Gorack gave him a beaten-up gold coin and told him, "Time to make your fortune." As a pirate, Barbarosa was different from the others in the Black Bow fleet; he avoided killing those he raided and often left them enough supplies to make it back to land. It was during this time he met a Talivor, a half-Elf. He would join the crew as the ship's cook, and they would eventually fall in love and get married. Talivor dream was to save enough gold to open a gourmet sea-themed restaurant and get his husband out from under the boots of Black Bow.
Talivor was killed by Black Bow when Barbarosa had let a ship go after he was told to kill everyone aboard. In his rage, he tried to attack Black Bow, but before he even reached him, he was struck down by Balck Bow's feared arrows and thrown over the sea to drown. By some miracle, he survived and made it back to shore.
When the attack by Black Bow on the harbor of Hallow occurred, Barbarosa rallied dozens of people to fight the invading pirates. He witnessed the death of Black Bow at the hands of Gorack.
Not long after the attack, he was given a small boat as thanks for his aid; over the years, that boat was exchanged for a large one until he had his grand merchant vessel. His goal was to make enough gold to open the restaurant his late husband had wanted in the wealthy upper quarter of Harllow.
