The life of a gnome might be considered something of a contradiction. The oldest of gnomes can live up to half a millennium, but one lifetime is never enough for a gnome. They are a people of unparalleled curiosity, and their thoughts move a mile a minute. Unfortunately for me, so do their mouths. If conversing with a gnome for the first time, be prepared to ask them to repeat themselves. And to my gnomish readers - sorry!

Gnomes are a race native to Faelathla who primarily inhabit the Kingdom of Cammara. Due to their ingenuity and technological prowess, they have emerged as a major economic force in the world.
Gnomes, like elves, have a connection to the Fey, and feel a special connection to the nature around them. Many gnomes (and virtually all forest gnomes) do not eat meat, or eat meat only rarely, because of their relationship with animals. This relationship is so strong that some animals, at the end of their lives, are known to relinquish their bodies to gnomes. When gnomes do eat meat, it is common practice for them to give thanks to the animal by name. This does lead to some tension with other races, who often do not think of their meat as coming from living beings.
