Three hills rise just beyond the irrigated plain. Here one finds observatories built to study the skies, including the Royal Observatory atop the center hill. In this 50-foot-tall tower, Babantylos, the chief astronomer, scrutinizes the stars for portents. Obsidian golems and a guardhouse with a dozen sentinels protect the Royal Observatory. An older observatory abandoned years ago serves as a place for clients to meet with smugglers and assassins hired by Silan the Serpent.
