Cadena Ost is a large, sparsely populated group of islands in the far northwest of the The Northern Reach. It consisted of three major islands and a dozen smaller ones.
The chain has never been heavily populated, but is rich in minerals especially mithril and adamantium. For many years, House Vetrini maintained several mining towns to exploit these resources.
However, as piracy in the reaches rebounded following the The Pirate Crusade the survival of these remote settlements became increasingly tenuous. The last nail in the coffin occurred three years ago when Giants out of Gianthome also started raiding the settlements. Shortly thereafter House Vetrini made the decision to cut their losses and evacuated the facilities.
The current fate of the islands is unknown.
