This vast chamber dominates the narrowest portion of the column of raw stone that links the floor and the ceiling of the The Hell of Boiling Blood.
The column of stone is so narrow here that to the east and west there is no wall at all, just a massive escarpment that descends to the city a mile below.
A single columned door provides entry to the chamber
The chamber is mostly empty, just a flat rough surface of rock, with a domed ceiling 60 feet high at it's peak. However in the center of the chamber a rectangular pool of boiling blood hisses and seethes.
Floating impossibly above the boiling pool are a half dozen flat boulders. The boulders must be sustained by some magic, as they have no obvious suspension, and yet hover thirty feet above the pool.
One the largest of these boulders you see a massive desk and chair. Sitting at the desk is a creature that must have once been Lucius Vetrini, the mastermind of the Cerro Rico.
The other flat topped boulders mostly host bookshelves, though one hosts a stack of silver bars
Lucius is human no longer. Twice the size of a man, he towers over his surroundings. While still generally humanoid in appearance, with a pair of arms and legs, wearing a severe black suit, he has no face. Where human features should be located there is only smooth white skin.
Sprouting from the creatures back is a mass of writhing black tentacles, inky black, composed of the very stuff of shadows. The tentacles seem to move of their own accord, but also assist Lucius in his tasks, as you watch, one elongates and grabs a book, handing it to it's master.
"Greetings! I admit this is a bit of a surprise. It must have taken considerable initiative and competence to have gotten this far, and without alerting to,
I don't suppose I could offer you a job? There are certainly very well compensated openings in my organization for individuals who have demonstrated the abilities you have. And the rewards are....considerable"
