In the name of Holy Mithras and the Blessed Saint Ursula.
I pledge myself, from now and forever, to the holy Order of St. Ursula, and the Hammers of her name. I declare to take freely and solemnly this oath of obedience, poverty and loyalty, as well as fraternity, hospitality and mercy.
With this oath I state my strong and irrevocable intent.
To pledge my sword, my forces, my life and everything that I own to the cause, defense, honor and further knowledge of the Order and of my companions in arms; to the defense of the weak and the innocent, to the defense of the pious and the comfort of the persecuted, the sick and the poor, and finally to the preservation of the Holy Church.
To submit to the Rule of our Holy Father the Patriarch of the church, to the Rules, Law and Decrees and all other statements issued in conformity to the Statutes of the Order; to obey unconditionally and always, within the Establishments of the Order and without, and in all walks of life, the Captain and the high Officers of the Order, collectively and singularly.
To love my Sisters and help them, their children and their families with my sword, my advice, means and wealth, my credit and everything in my power.
To fight the evil and corrupt, with my example, virtue, charity and convincing arguments; and to fight them with my sword when those other weapons fail.
To abhor all immodesty, and not to indulge in illegitimate pleasures of the flesh.
Finally, barring rules dictated by Religion and the Order, to conform to the Laws and Customs of the countries in which I may reside, to fulfill my duties of citizen, and to be loyal knight in those countries which entertain relations with the Order.
This oath I pronounce loudly before my Sisters and Blessed Ursula. I sign it and confirm it by my blood. Again, I write it and sign its registration in the documents relating to this Convent and witnessed by my Sisters and Mithras himself.”
Glory be Mithras and his servant Ursula.
Amen.
