The Albasa Grand

Hotel

The most famous hotel in Albasa City, it has a reputation for luxury and opulence. It is conservative in its tastes and hasn't been redecorated for decades.

On entering you are greeted by the famous Sun and Moon Lobby, its painted ceiling depicts the creation myth in the Religion of Modella, which starts with the birth of the Sun and the Moon. It was painted by the master artist Lord Gerald Weston.

Whilst the lobby is the real wonder other rooms in the hotel are also famous, for example there is the Fountain Ballroom that actually contains a working fountain and an electronic lighting rig that throw lightning effects across the dance floor of greater quality than can be found in any play. Sometimes the lighting director throws the whole room into darkness and then highlights one couple with a spotlight they must then dance to the cheers or boos of the other dancers turned spectators.

The hotel even boasts its own music hall where the latest singers, performers and comedians try and amuse the wealthiest most glamourous tourists in Albasa. Known as The Grand Stage it has launched the careers of several household acts. These days the place is hard to headline unless you are already featured in movies or played on the radio.

Finally there is the Mirrored Dining Room, the most exclusive of several dining rooms in the hotel, it gets its name from the simple fact that its walls are covered in mirrors, decried as the ultimate vanity by many priests it is so the dinners can see themselves and to a lesser extent one imagines, each other.
