Looking at the diplomatic history between Erenen and Dorwin, one might think that Ferana is not very successful, given the lack of major trade deals or alliances between the two countries. That would be a mistake. It is Dorwin's strategy to keep nearby countries passive, to make clear that it is in their best interest to not take any action.
The independence of Dorion is generally supported by the people of Erenen, yet never officially recognized. It is believed that indecision like this is directly fueled by diplomats such as Blenwaldt; to keep others paralyzed through diplomatic means, and to ruthlessly seize whatever they want through military might.
When attending the Summer's Start Banquet, Blenwaldt was accused of being some sort of shapeshifter by The Raven Shield and apprehended.
