Short on gold? Collecting bounties is a good way of making cash as an adventurer!
Step 1: Finding a Bounty
Most cities, towns, and villages have a bounty board available. Threats can vary wildly between urban and rural environments. When finding an appropriate bounty, find the one who posted it.
Step 2: Negotiations
Find the person who placed the bounty to find out more about the target. This is also where you can negotiate a better price:
Make a Charisma Check against the negotiator.
- For a 5 or lower, the bounty is halved.
- For a 14 or lower, the regular bounty is kept.
- For a 15-20, the bounty is increased by 25%.
- For a 20+, the bounty is increased by 50%.
Your primary concern will be to
- discover more about the bounty
- find out its last known location
Step 3: Preparation
If the bounty was easy to capture or kill, they wouldn't need you. Do your research! Interview witnesses, look up more information. Try to figure out
- possible strengths and weaknesses
- possible lures
Step 4: Engage
Take down the bounty and make sure to preserve the agreed-upon proof of completion.
Step 5: Cash-In!
Return to the bounty giver and collect your payday!
