Early Life
Vagran was born in exile, as Heaton was still under Shattered Spear occupation. In 298, when he was 13, the Founding of Erenen took place, and he became the crown prince of Erenen.
Career
Whereas his father was both a diplomat and a fierce warrior, Vagran was a far better talker than a fighter. This proved valuable to the young nation, as Vagran managed to solidify many relations, both in- and outside of the country.
He fathered a son, Kebren Sinask, at age 23.
Coronation
When his father passed away in 339, Vagran, then 54, took the throne, becoming the second king of Erenen.
The Black Sail Crisis
With Erenen strengthening as a nation, it started to look outward. Its navy was ever-expanding into the surrounding Middle Sea and Cradle Bay. The current forces of those waters took notice, especially Tharkilm Tumanzan, the Pirate King of Cradle Bay. This led to increasing skirmishes between Erenen- and pirate ships starting at 368. The seven-year war that followed became known as the Black Sail Crisis. During this time, Kebren proved himself a worthy naval commander.
Trying to sue for peace, Vagran met with Tumanzan in Eastport in 375 to negotiate. Tumanzan, however, had no intention of settling things peacefully. Retreating to his ship under the guise of 'overthinking the propositions', his fleet opened fire on the town during the Crimson Cannonade.
Death
In the resulting firestorm, Vagran was killed when a building collapsed on him. He would later be avenged by Kebren, but at a high price. In the Battle of the Bloody Waves, Kebren's flagship rammed the ship of the Pirate King, which caused an enormous explosion that slew all aboard both ships.
Kebren's daughter, Alys, took the throne in 375 as the Third Queen of Erenen, at age 34.
