Whispers

The Whispers are rarely contacted, as reaching them requires long treks through dense forest, or boat rides along treacherous rivers.

They have been known to trade with small settlements at the edge of forests, meeting at dedicated clearings close to the plains. Some of these villages have built durable relations with Whisper tribes over time.

They are the guardians of rare flowers from deep within the woods, which the Helladrians are all too happy to trade for, given their magical and restorative abilities.

While they are called the Whispers by most Helladrians, this name is actually based on a misconception.

When the first explorers braved the dark woods of Helladris and stumbled upon the tribesmen, they interpreted their gestures as an introduction - introducing themselves as Whispers. In fact, the tribespeople urged the explorers to lower their voices in reverence of the woods - asking them to whisper in the forest. Regardless, the name stuck.

The Whispers refer to themselves as arbol, meaning something along the lines of "children of the forest" or "sapling".
