Return To Sender

Completed
Sidequest

Quest failed when the Handy Haversack was lost in the underwater Elleseandi base.

Deep in the Whisperwoods, the party stumbles upon a dead Halfling, mauled by a nearby bear.

His bag contains a plethora of letters.

Dear Mother,

I am writing to let you know we have settled successfully in Heastead. The trip here was luckily uneventful, and we arrived according to plan. We now live in a lovely small cottage near the city wall in Copper Hill. Edwald has managed to find work as a carpenter, so I think things will be alright. I hope to visit again soon.

Dear Alaldor,

I hope this letter finds you in good health. I have been continuing our work on your expansion of the practical application of a partial dimensional shift in high-intensity situations.

It seems that by focussing on disrupting the local distribution of rays of light in a person-bound field of illusory energy, a very interesting effect can be achieved.

In practice, however, achieving this effect proves to be quite difficult.

The original tablets regarding this topic might prove illuminating, but as you know, the Elleseandi are very strict with their encrypting. I’ve included an original sketch of the tablet and some context about the message itself. I believe the key, that being, the required word of power, is found somewhere in the combination of these elements.

I eagerly await your insights,

Balthazar
